Born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa, Gus has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over 35 years. As a successful personal trainer, he relocated to the UK in 1999 where he was introduced to bodywork.

He has explored a variety of soft tissue and hands-on techniques and has over the years developed his own style of treatment in his busy clinic in Witney, Oxfordshire, UK.

After realising the importance of the lymphatic system in bodywork and clinical presentations, he started delivering workshops to practitioners on ways of incorporating this important system as part of treatment protocols and symptom resolutions.

Getting involved in the vagus nerve was not far behind as these two systems function synergistically in maintaining our health and wellbeing.  The vagus nerve is the mind-body link! It plays a fundamental role in both our physical and mental/emotional health.

Gus is also a tutor of the McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release technique® - MSTR®

It is an invaluable clinical tool as scars are often linked to traumatic events with the emotional aspect of the event being held on to within the scar. This incidentally marries well with work around the vagus nerve. Scars do not only interfere with lymphatic flow, but will very often affect neural signalling, creating problems or dysfunctions often far removed from the site of the scar.

As well as running hands-on and online workshops, Gus has also started his journey into the world of Functional Medicine.

He loves travelling, is married, have 2 daughters, and an avid singer, guitarist, and keyboard player, doing "gigs" in his spare time.
